o   Current Age: 29

o   Profession/education: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/MSN

o   Lifestyle/Hobbies: Bike Riding, running, playing with my dog, reading, photography

o   Condition/Symptoms: Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Hypermobility Type/ Currently no symptoms, but formerly had debilitating back pain at the T11-12 joint on the right side.

Previous Treatments: When I was in high school I had debilitating back pain that all but ended my active lifestyle. I had pain from the moment I woke up in the morning until I went to bed a night, which was then aggravated by any activity, sitting and walking.

I had even tried two rounds of nerve ablation, in which they burned off the nerve endings at the joint in my back that caused the pain, but the pain still returned. I was then told the only way to break the pain cycle was to medicate with high-dose, narcotic pain medicine. I had many months of taking medicine like hydrocodone, tramadol and others, which this dulled the pain, but it also made me so sleepy I wasn’t able to function in day to day life. I couldn’t go to school, or even think about doing homework, and my dreams of playing college basketball had long been forgotten.  Along with all of this I had also tried massage, ice, rest, back braces, physical therapy & muscle relaxers.

InterX: The InterX truly changed my life.  The InterX was able to break the pain cycle, even with just one treatment. All these years later and I am still so grateful for the InterX , which gave me my life back. I had tried every pain management strategy my parents and I could think of for months and months, and after just one treatment with the InterX my pain cycle broke, and I could see a light at the end of the tunnel.  It is thanks to the InterX that I was able to stop taking prescription pain medicine.

Sitting here now, over 10 years later, pain free, having completed graduate school and living a very active lifestyle and I owe it all the the InterX . I truly believe that without the InterX treatments my life would look very different than it does now, and that I would still be battling constant, chronic pain.
